MEMORIZING VOCABULARY HABIT IN STUDENTS USING THE MUHADATSAH METHOD TO MASTER A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

In essence, each institution has its own advantages in its field, these advantages can certainly be developed into useful assets in an institution, this paper will be a reference for teachers or other readers who have the desire for their students to master a foreign language that is aimed not only at national but also international. The use of effective learning strategies is the key to success in the teaching and learning process and instilling good character. Therefore, teachers need to understand and apply various learning strategies to improve students' four language skills,  namely  listening,  speaking,  reading,  and  writing  by  getting  used  to  memorizing vocabulary with the muhadatsah method. Through the ABCD method, Islamic boarding school assets such as students who excel at going international can be found. Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) is an approach to community development that emphasizes the utilization of resources within the community itself. This method assumes that each community has unique and valuable potential that can be used as a foundation for growth and development. To recognize these assets we must use the following steps: The Appreciative Inquiry process consists of 4 stages, namely 1) Discovery, 2) Dream, 3) Design, 4) Destiny. Efforts to foster and shape students' character In the context of English language learning, teachers need to ensure that students have the opportunity to develop their language skills in authentic and relevant contexts to everyday life. This can be achieved by providing an interactive, fun, and supportive  learning  environment.  Teachers  also  need  to  ensure  that  students  have  the opportunity to practice and develop their language skills continuously. This can be achieved by providing a variety of challenging and fun learning activities, as well as providing constructive and supportive feedback. Thus, teachers can help students develop the ability of the four language skills and increase awareness of the importance of English in everyday life.
