Abstract

The mentoring of santri in the Bahtsul Masail method is a strategic effort to enhance their understanding and skills in Islamic legal studies at Pondok Pesantren Lubbul Labib. This method aims to train santri in analyzing and formulating solutions to various fiqh issues using a classical Islamic text-based approach. The mentoring process is conducted through intensive guidance by experienced ustadz and senior students in scholarly discussions and the exploration of sharia-based arguments. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving observation, interviews, and documentation of Bahtsul Masail activities within the pesantren. The findings indicate that this mentoring significantly contributes to improving santri’s understanding of the methodology of legal deduction (istinbath), systematic argumentation skills, and the ability to present opinions in an academic manner. With effective mentoring, santri not only develop a deep understanding of fiqh but also gain confidence in participating in scholarly discussions both within and beyond the pesantren’s academic environment.
