Education is an important factor in country development. With education, the younger generation can gain the knowledge and skills needed to face future challenges. As the world continues to develop more rapidly, education must adapt to remain relevant and effective in preparing students for a complex world. Policies in the independent curriculum influence the role of teachers and educational challenges, and require teachers to improve their learning and self-competence. Therefore, researchers are interested in studying the challenges of implementing an independent curriculum for class XII Indonesian language teachers at Haf-sa Zainul Hasan BPPT Genggong Flagship High School. Haf-sa Zainul Hasan BPPT Genggong Superior High School is one of the senior secondary education institutions located at the Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic boarding school, Probolinggo, East Java. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The informants in this research were Indonesian language teachers. There is some opposition to implementing an independent curriculum for class XII Indonesian language teachers at the superior high school Haf-Sa Zainul Hasan Genggong Bppt Genggong. However, these challenges do not necessarily become an obstacle for teachers to carry out the teaching and learning process in accordance with the existing curriculum, especially with excellent support from the school, it really makes it easier to overcome the challenges faced when implementing the independent curriculum.
