THE INFLUENCE OF SELF-DIRECTED DIALOGUE TOWARDS STUDENT’S SPEAKING ABILITY IN MA WALISONGO

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement of students' speaking skills through the application of independent dialogue and student activities in the implementation of independent dialogue in English subject Class XI MA Walisongo for the academic year 2024/2025. In this research, the researchers used classroom action research as the research design using observations, interviews and documentation. Observation was used to find out whether independent interaction techniques were used during the teaching and learning process, and interviews were used to collect data by directly asking the parties involved in the research I conducted. The subjects of this research were the students of Walisongo MA Class XI, a total of 25 students in this class. The researchers used qualitative data analysis with narrative research methods. The findings of this research indicate that self-directed dialogue techniques can improve students' speaking skills.
