Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method through mind mapping techniques in learning in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Besuk. The PBL method focuses on developing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills through real-world problem contexts. In its implementation, mind mapping is used as an effective tool to organize and visualize information, making it easier for students to understand learning materials. This study uses a qualitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires and document analysis to measure the impact of the implementation of PBL and mind mapping on the learning process and outcomes. The results showed an increase in students' active participation, critical thinking skills, and understanding of the material presented. Students also showed higher enthusiasm in participating in learning activities. From these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the PBL method with mind mapping techniques has a positive contribution to the quality of learning at SMA Negeri 1 Besuk. Thus, this method can be adopted as an effective strategy to increase student engagement and motivation to learn, as well as deepen their understanding of the material being taught.
