IMPROVING STUDENTS' ENGLISH LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' English learning outcomes through the Discovery Learning learning reference application for class XI SMAS ZAHA 1 Gengsgong. This study was carried out in the first semester (odd). The time for actualizing this study is from July to August 2024 from designing, actualizing the study and working on the report. The subjects of this study were class XI students at SMAS ZAHA 1 Genggong in 4 classes, namely 104 students. This research mechanism applies a class activity assessment scheme that takes place in two cycles. The data collection technique used in this study is implementing observation of teacher activities in learning, observing students' activities in learning and testing student learning outcomes.  The results of the study prove that in cycle I the percentage of classical completeness of student learning outcomes was 66.66% for class XIA, 65.38% for XIB, 78.57% for XIC, 75% for 88.46%, XIC 92.85%, XID 100% increased as much as in class XIA 26.6%, XIB 23.07%, So it can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning reference is able to increase the English learning outcomes of class XI SMAS ZAHA 1 Genggong students.
