KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA SMK DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH FUNGSI KOMPOSISI

The importance of understanding concepts in learning mathematics, which is the basis for students to face various challenges in mathematics. The purpose of this research is to describe the concept understanding ability of vocational students in solving composition function problems. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with research subjects of 12 class X students at Al-Khusyu' Wates Vocational School. Data was collected through test results that focused on composition function material and in-depth interviews with students. The research results showed that students in the high category were able to meet three indicators of concept understanding ability, while students in the medium category could only meet two indicators. Low category students have not been able to meet the expected concept understanding ability indicators. These findings indicate significant variations in conceptual understanding among students, highlighting the need for more effective educational interventions to improve mathematical abilities, especially for students in the low category. It is hoped that this research can provide insight for educators in designing more appropriate learning strategies to increase understanding of mathematical concepts among students.
