Teacher professionalism plays a vital role in enhancing students' motivation, which is crucial for improving educational outcomes. This study aims to explore the influence of teacher professionalism on student motivation, particularly in a junior high school setting. A qualitative longitudinal approach involved semi-structured interviews with four teachers and six SMP Al-Azhar Muncar Banyuwangi students. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, focusing on teachers with more than five years of experience and students from class VIII. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that professional teachers, who exhibit strong communication skills and subject mastery, significantly impact students' desire to learn, with 96% of students reporting increased motivation. Additionally, professional development programs such as workshops and collaborative learning communities enhance teacher effectiveness and, in turn, student engagement. The study highlights the need for continuous professional development to sustain teacher effectiveness, thus fostering a conducive learning environment. The implications suggest that improving teacher professionalism is essential for motivating students, which can ultimately lead to better educational outcomes.
