Abstract

In the rapid digital transformation age, educational institutions face significant challenges and opportunities in adapting their teaching and learning strategies. This study aimed to explore the integration of digital technology within Islamic boarding schools, focusing on how these institutions navigate the complexities of change and its impact on educational outcomes. Using a qualitative descriptive narrative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving 20 participants from Junior High School (SMP) and Islamic Senior High School (MA) in Modern Islamic Boarding School (PPM) Al-Azhar Muncar Banyuwangi, including school leaders, teachers, and students. The findings revealed that successful digital integration enhances student engagement, knowledge retention, and critical thinking skills, driven by strategic planning, visionary leadership, and robust infrastructure. However, the study also identifies challenges such as resistance to change and the need for equitable access to technology. The implications underscore the importance of effective leadership, stakeholder involvement, and ongoing exploration of innovative strategies in the digital age, particularly within traditional educational settings. This research contributes to understanding digital transformation in education, offering insights that can guide future practices and policies in enhancing learning experiences.
